Silica is not mobile within the plant once deposited. Electron microscopy and X-ray analysis both confirm that existing silica in plant tissue cannot be redistributed to support new growth, meaning the benefits of silica supplementation are only realised when it is continuously present in the nutrient solution throughout both vegetative and flowering stages. Many silica products on the market degrade in the bottle within six to twelve months of manufacture, delivering inconsistent or negligible silica content by the time they are used. SilikaMajic is formulated for indefinite shelf stability, guaranteeing the potassium silicate content stated on the label is present and available regardless of when the product is used.

When taken up by the roots, silica is deposited in plant cell walls as a rigid quartz-like matrix, producing measurable improvements across several areas simultaneously. Cell wall reinforcement improves stem strength and leaf orientation, supporting greater photosynthetic efficiency and more upright canopy structure. Fruit weight and shelf life are improved through the physical accumulation of silica in fruit cells. Heat stress tolerance is increased, allowing plants to maintain turgidity and productive function under elevated temperatures. Resistance to fungal diseases, including mildews and botrytis, is improved as silica accumulates at sites of fungal attack, physically impeding ingress. Pruning wound healing is also accelerated, which is particularly relevant in commercial cropping of tomato and cucumber where regular pruning creates ongoing disease entry risk. SilikaMajic contains 15% potassium silicate (NPK 0-0-10) and is fully soluble with no residue.
