A Basic TrolMaster Guide

TrolMasters range of controllers and sensors has revolutionized the way we grow. With controllers for irrigation, environment, and co2, TrolMaster has you covered. The TrolMaster system has a modular design – so multiple sensors can be added to the control unit, allowing you to control small or large industrial grows. All this information can be monitored via the free TrolMaster app – enabling you to monitor your grow room anywhere. Let's look at the different types of controllers and sensors and what they can do for you.

Hydro X:

The Hydro-X system is the ultimate environmental control, and it can control most grow lights, fans, air conditioners, dehumidifiers and even co2 generators/regulators. Your growing environment plays a large part in the success of your harvest, and if something goes wrong, it can be hard to tell until it's too late – that is why we recommend investing in a Hydro-X setup. There are 3 options available for the Hydro-X Controller:

• The Hydro-X Environment Control System: This is the original Hydro-X Controller. It can have up to 2 different temp/humidity devices and 2 different co2 devices. This is the best model for beginners.
• The Hydro-X Pro Control System: The Pro Model has a 10" touch screen. This model allows the user to set up different conditions. The Hydro-X Pro can control up to 50 devices and sensors. This is best suited to commercial growers.
• The Hydro-X Plus Controller: The Plus model has a 7" touch screen, and it can control an unlimited number of lights, up to 8 temperature/humidity devices, and 4 co2 devices. We recommend this controller for home gardeners wanting to take their grow to the next level.
    

Now let's look at a few of the sensors available for the Hydro-X range:

• 4-in-1 Sensor: The MBS-PRO 4-In-1 sensor monitors air temperature, humidity, co2, and light levels. It is compatible with the Hydro-X Pro and Plus models. 
• Full Spectrum Quantum Sensor: The MBS-PAR sensor accurately measures your PAR levels. This sensor will automatically increase or decrease the output level of your lighting systems.
• Water Detector 2 Sensor: The WD-2 sensor can detect water leaks/water on your grow room floor. If the sensor detects water, it will alert the app – letting you know immediately. 
• Smoke Detector Sensor: The MBS-SD Smoke detector sensor will alert the user to any smoke detected in the grow room. This is crucial as it can help save your grow; it can also help keep your house and family safe.  

Aqua-X:

The Aqua-X allows you to monitor and control everything in and around your hydroponics tank. The Aqua-X monitors pH, EC, and water temperature, and it can also measure the moisture levels of your medium. Water leaks can be monitored with the Aqua-X system and watering confirmation – giving you peace of mind no matter where you are. The Aqua-X has two different controllers and a myriad of sensors. The two options for controllers are:

• Aqua-X Irrigation Control System: The Aqua-X NFS-1 system is designed to control up to 30 separate irrigation zones. It can monitor up to 5 moisture level zones, allowing you to know if you are over/under watering your plants. Timers can be set up with different durations and at different times of the day.
• Aqua-X Pro Irrigation Control System: The NFS-2 Aqua-X Pro system is the controller you need if you are a commercial grower. It can control up to 50 sensors, and up to 50 control modules(such as water pumps) 

The Aqua-X range has a vast range of sensors available; we've compiled what we believe to be the essentials for anyone looking into the Aqua-X range:

• Sensor Board: The AMP-2 sensor board connects the pH and EC probes to the unit. It is essential for anyone looking to use the Aqua-X range.
• Reservoir pH Sensor: This pH probe provides accurate and reliable readings of the pH in your tank. It will alert you if your pH fluctuates, allowing you to balance your pH before the problem becomes worse.
• Reservoir EC/Temp Sensor: This sensor provides accurate and reliable monitoring of EC and temperature – making it essential to any Aqua-X users.
• 3-in-1 water content sensor: This sensor is designed to read medium water levels. This helps you tailor your nutrient feed to what your plants need. It reads the water content, temperature and EC of the medium and passes this information onto the free TrolMaster app. 

Carbon X:

The Carbon-X controller system monitors your CO2 levels in up to 13 separate zones, and it will alert you when your co2 levels reach high or low levels. The Carbon-X can also control your fans and co2 valves, and it can even set off your fire alarm – alerting the fire department. Let us take a closer look at some of the sensors available with the Carbon-X system:

• CO2 Sensor: This sensor can read up to 30,000ppm. This is critical to the operation and safety of an emergency CO2 system like the Carbon-X.
• CO2 Alarm Station: This is an audio/visual alarm that can be mounted inside or outside the grow room. You can visually monitor the co2 levels, and an alarm will sound in the event of unsafe c02 levels.
