OPC Mesh Pot Black Wick 140mm

Mesh pots are specialized planting containers designed for use in Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic systems. NFT systems utilize a thin film of nutrient-rich water to circulate over the roots of plants, allowing them to absorb nutrients and oxygen directly. Mesh pots enhance the efficiency of NFT systems by providing a secure and supportive platform for plants, ensuring optimal root development and nutrient uptake.

Mesh pots are typically constructed from durable materials such as plastic or nylon, featuring a basket-like design with numerous perforations on the sides and bottom. These perforations facilitate the passage of water, nutrients, and air while cradling the plant's root system. Mesh pots come in various sizes to accommodate different plant types and stages of growth.

Key Features:

• Open Structure: The mesh design of these pots allows for ample exposure to the nutrient solution and air circulation, promoting healthy root growth and preventing water stagnation around the roots.
• Secure Plant Placement: The mesh material securely holds the plant in place while allowing the roots to grow freely through the openings. This prevents the plant from shifting or floating in the nutrient stream.
• Easy Monitoring: The open structure of mesh pots allows growers to easily observe the root development and overall health of the plants without disturbing the root system.
• Uniform Nutrient Distribution: Mesh pots ensure that the nutrient solution flows evenly around the root zone, promoting consistent nutrient uptake and preventing any pockets of stagnant water.
• Versatility: Mesh pots are suitable for a wide range of plants, from seedlings and young plants to more mature specimens. They can be used for various hydroponic crops, including herbs, leafy greens, and flowering plants.
• Low Maintenance: The perforated design of mesh pots minimizes the likelihood of clogs or blockages, reducing the need for frequent cleaning. This results in a lower maintenance requirement compared to solid containers.
• Modular Configuration: Mesh pots can be easily arranged and rearranged within an NFT system, allowing for efficient use of space and easy scalability.
• Root Oxygenation: The open structure of mesh pots ensures that roots receive sufficient oxygen, promoting aerobic conditions that are vital for healthy plant growth.
• Preventing Root Rot: The breathable nature of mesh pots helps prevent conditions conducive to root rot, as excess moisture can drain away more effectively.
