Expanded clay pebbles are one of the most widely used inert hydroponic substrates for good reason. The porous structure of each pebble provides excellent air and water holding capacity simultaneously, creating the aerated root environment that drives productive growth while retaining enough moisture to support consistent nutrient delivery between feed cycles. Strong root development in a well-aerated medium translates directly to improved yields.
Canna Aqua Clay Pebbles are manufactured from specially selected clay with a low soluble salt content, making them particularly well suited to closed and recirculating hydroponic systems where salt accumulation between cycles can become a management issue. The pebbles are inorganic, pH neutral, fungus-free, and do not break down or rot over time, making them a reusable medium that can be cleaned and reconditioned between crops. For best results, use in combination with Canna Aqua Vega and Aqua Flores nutrients, which are formulated to match the demands of recirculating systems running on inert media.
