In a recirculating reservoir, pH does not stay where you set it. As plants draw on specific nutrients, the ionic balance of the solution shifts, and pH drifts, requiring regular manual correction to keep conditions within the optimal range. The frequency and precision required to do this well by hand are significant. The Bluelab pH Controller Wi-Fi automates the process entirely, continuously monitoring reservoir pH and dosing pH adjuster via a built-in peristaltic pump to maintain the target within a 0.1 pH tolerance without manual intervention.
The controller operates in either pH-up or pH-down direction depending on the setup, and the variable-speed pump delivers the right volume of solution for the reservoir size rather than applying a fixed dose regardless of what is needed. Configurable on and off times between doses allow for thorough mixing before the next correction, preventing overshoot. Safety lockouts prevent excessive dosing, and dosing is suspended automatically when the unit is in alarm mode. High and low alarms notify via the Edenic app on your mobile when pH moves outside the set range. Auto-resume after power loss maintains stability without manual reset.
Built-in Wi-Fi connects to Edenic for remote monitoring and control. A temperature probe is included for automatic temperature compensation of all pH readings. Water-resistant construction. Built in New Zealand. Includes 2m probe cables for flexible positioning. Compatible with Bluelab PeriPod dosers for expanded multi-part nutrient dosing programs.
A note on pH probe care and warranty: pH probes and pH pens are precision scientific instruments and require consistent care and maintenance to provide accurate readings and remain within warranty. Please read the full instruction booklet included with your instrument before use.
pH probes and pens (without replaceable probes) are electrical sensors and are considered consumable items, in the same way that growing media and nutrients are replaced over time. The live charge in the sensing electrode degrades naturally with use, and hydroponic nutrient solutions accelerate this process significantly compared to other applications. Probes and non-replaceable pens carry a 6-month warranty from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for any warranty claim.
With correct care, a pH probe can last considerably longer than 6 months. Without it, the electrode can fail well within that window. The two most important rules are simple: always rehydrate the probe in storage solution before use, and always store the probe in storage solution when not in use. In-tank monitors are the exception to the storage rule, as the probe remains submerged during operation. Storage solution is available in stores and should be considered an essential part of your pH monitoring setup. If it dries, it dies.
