Setting up your first grow tent
Airflow, light-proofing and the kit you actually need to get started.
Pick the right size
Choose a tent that fits your space and plant count, with headroom for your light and a hanging filter. It's easier to grow into a slightly larger tent than to cram a small one — plan for the canopy you want, not the one you start with.
Airflow and odour
An inline fan pulling air through a carbon filter controls temperature, humidity and smell. Aim to exchange the tent's full air volume often, and add a small clip fan for gentle circulation so leaves are always moving.
Light-proofing and reflectivity
A good tent is light-tight — important once you're flowering — with reflective interior walls that bounce light back onto the plants. Check that zips and seams seal fully before you rely on them.
